🚛 About the Role – Heavy Vehicle Mechanic (Darwin Depot)

This role is primarily based at the Darwin depot, with regular travel across remote Northern Territory locations to support the Sealing Crew.

As a Heavy Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing the company’s fleet of heavy vehicles, mobile plant, and road surfacing equipment. You’ll work closely with the Projects & Operations Manager and play a crucial role in ensuring the success of road construction projects.

🔧 Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults in heavy vehicles and mobile equipment

• Perform routine servicing and scheduled maintenance

• Conduct breakdown repairs and equipment inspections

• Manage critical spare parts inventory

• Maintain accurate service records and safety documentation

• Travel across the NT to remote project sites as required

• Support and maintain a safe work environment at all times

✅ Required Skills & Experience:

• 🧰 10+ years’ experience as a Qualified Truck / Heavy Diesel Mechanic (Essential)

• 🛣️ 5+ years’ experience in bituminous road surfacing (Highly Advantageous)

• 🔧 Hands-on knowledge of Euro 6 trucks – Volvo, Hino, Scania, Mercedes, DAF

• 🛠️ Experience with Schaefer or Secmair sprayers is a bonus

• 🎓 Certificate III in Engineering – Heavy Commercial Vehicles (or internationally recognized equivalent, e.g., Red Seal, FETAC, City & Guilds)

• 🚚 HR or HC Licence (or international equivalent with ability to transfer)

• 🏗️ Forklift Licence & Construction White Card (assistance provided if needed)

• ❤️ First Aid & CPR Certification (preferred)
