CNC Machinist – Aerospace Manufacturing

Brisbane, Australia | Visa Sponsorship Available

Ready to take your CNC career further — and do it in aerospace?

This is an opportunity for experienced CNC Machinists / CNC Setter Operators to join a well-established aerospace manufacturer in Brisbane, Australia, producing complex, high-precision aircraft components for major global aerospace programs.

If you’re currently machining in aerospace, motorsport, automotive, defence or another high-spec precision engineering environment, and want to work with advanced equipment on genuinely interesting components, this is the kind of move worth considering.

You’ll be joining a modern manufacturing business with a strong reputation, serious investment in technology, and long-term growth across aerospace and defence projects.

Why this role stands out

This is not a repetitive production machining role in a tired workshop.

You’ll be working in a high-spec aerospace environment with access to modern CNC technology, advanced manufacturing systems, and complex precision components where quality, accuracy and skill genuinely matter.

The business operates an impressive range of CNC machinery, including:

  • Mazak
  • DMG
  • Makino
  • Doosan
  • Okuma
  • Breton

You’ll also gain exposure to a variety of control systems including Fanuc, Heidenhain, Celos and Makino Pro, with opportunities to work on 5-axis machining centres and continue developing your technical capability.

The role

You’ll be responsible for setting and operating CNC machinery to produce high-precision aerospace parts to exacting quality standards.

Typical duties will include:

  • Setting and operating CNC milling and machining centres
  • Manufacturing complex aerospace components
  • Reading and working from engineering drawings and 3D CAD models
  • Inspecting finished parts using precision measuring equipment
  • Completing production and quality documentation accurately
  • Contributing to a quality-focused, high-performance manufacturing environment

What we’re looking for

We’re keen to hear from machinists who already have solid CNC experience and want to move into, or further build a career within, advanced aerospace manufacturing.

Essential experience

  • A trade qualification or equivalent hands-on machining experience
  • 5-axis CNC machining experience
  • CNC machining experience in milling and/or multi-axis machining
  • Background in aerospace, automotive, motorsport, defence, or other high-precision manufacturing environments
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment and maintaining tight tolerances

Highly regarded

  • CAM programming experience, ideally with Mastercam or CATIA
  • Previous aerospace manufacturing experience
  • Experience working within AS9100 and/or ISO9001 quality systems

Why make the move?

For the right machinist, this is a chance to combine career progression, lifestyle and international opportunity in one move.

You’ll have the chance to:

  • Work on advanced aerospace and defence programs
  • Use modern CNC machinery in a clean, well-equipped manufacturing environment
  • Earn competitive, skill-based pay, including shift loading where applicable
  • Develop into 5-axis machining, programming and multi-machine operation
  • Build a long-term future in Australia’s growing aerospace sector
  • Enjoy the lifestyle benefits of living in Brisbane, Queensland — one of Australia’s most popular cities for weather, outdoor living and work-life balance

International applicants encouraged

We are particularly interested in hearing from experienced CNC Machinists and 5-Axis Machinists currently based in:

  • United Kingdom
  • European Union countries
  • Canada
  • New Zealand
  • United States
  • Australia
