Our client is looking for an experienced Marine Technician or Marine Mechanic to join their dedicated team in Broome, Western Australia. This is your opportunity to work on a wide range of outboard motors, marine engines, electronics and boat fit-outs while enjoying the lifestyle of one of Australia’s most stunning coastal locations.

About the Company

Our client supplies and services Mercury Outboards, Simrad, Lowrance, Raymarine, Icom and other leading marine brands. With a busy retail store, a professional workshop, and the ability to service vessels both on-site and remotely, they are a go-to name for commercial and recreational boating customers in northern WA.

The Role

Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will:

  • Service, diagnose, and repair outboard motors and marine engines

  • Install new Mercury Outboards and perform repowers

  • Carry out 12V/24V wiring, electrical fit-outs and marine electronics installations

  • Install and network sounders, radar, GPS and other navigation equipment

  • Maintain a tidy and safe workshop, vehicles, and yard

  • Occasionally assist with customer sales and technical enquiries

About You

We are seeking someone who is:

  • Qualified or highly experienced in Marine Mechanics or a related trade

  • Confident working independently with strong diagnostic skills

  • Detail-focused, with a high standard of workmanship

  • Passionate about boating, marine systems and quality service

  • A good communicator who enjoys problem-solving and learning new skills

Skills & Qualifications (Highly Regarded)

  • Trade qualification in Marine Mechanics or Automotive discipline

  • Hands-on experience with Mercury Marine products or similar brands

  • Strong knowledge of 12V and 24V electrical systems

  • Additional tickets: Working at Heights, Forklift, HC Licence, MSIC/Port Pass

  • Boating licences or practical marine experience

  • Ability to diagnose engine and electrical issues accurately
