About the Role
Our client, a leading quarrying company in Australia, seeks 4 Mechanical Fitters – Quarry Crusher Experience to join their team at two quarry sites in Central Victoria. Key Responsibilities
As a Mechanical Fitter, you will:
- Perform strip assessments and inspections on crushers and their assemblies.
- Rebuild crusher components and test-run rebuilt assemblies to ensure proper functionality.
- Carry out maintenance on chutes, screens, and plates, including adjusting and replacing skirts.
- Inspect and replace rollers, as well as refurbish or replace pulleys when needed.
- Maintain and install belt cleaners and upgrade scrapers.
- Replace bearings and consistently improve mechanical systems and equipment.
- Identify parts for replacement, report your findings, and prepare parts for assembly.
- Ensure the fixed and mobile plant mechanical systems comply with operational and Australian safety standards.
- Perform pre-start inspections, update procedures, and review reports as necessary.
- Provide after-hours breakdown support when required.
- Assist in coordinating work with external contractors and handle any ad hoc duties that arise.
- Work afternoon and night shifts, depending on operational needs.
Qualifications & Experience
To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications and experience:
- Hands-on experience working with Jaw, Cone, and Impactor crushers.
- Knowledge of electrical circuits for fault-finding and basic troubleshooting.
- Skills in Mig Welding, Arc Welding, and Oxy Acetylene Cutting.
- Trade Qualifications in Mechanical Fitting or Boiler Making.
- Experience operating quarry equipment, including crushers, conveyors, and screens.
- Valid Drivers Licence, with additional certifications like Confined Space and Working at Heights. Additional qualifications in Elevated Work Platform, Dogging/Rigging, or LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out) will be highly regarded.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
- Self-motivation, with the ability to work autonomously or as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
Working Hours
This is a full-time role requiring 40 hours per week, plus overtime and penalty rates. You will also be available for weekend shifts as needed to meet operational demands.

- A minimum score of 5.0 in all sections of the IELTS or PTE English Test, unless you’re from the UK, USA, Ireland, Canada, or New Zealand, or have studied in English for at least 5 years.
- Financial capability to support your visa application and associated costs.
